Steamforged Games' partnership along with Jagex is the latest in a series of collaborations that bring one of the biggest gaming franchises to a tabletop experience. Steamforged Games is a tabletop gaming titan that has previously created board games based on series like Monster Hunter World and Dark Souls and most recently launched the most successful Kickstarter campaign for the Resident Evil 2 board game raising over 1 million GBP during the course of the year. The two RPG adaptations will feature some of the most well-known characters from RuneScape and places, allowing groups of five or more players to compete against classic quests taken from RuneScape in addition to bringing the adventures in the world of Gielinor to the home of Gielinor. Players will be able to design and upgrade equipment, engage with NPCs as they undertake various side quests inspired by an old-fashioned MMORPG. The board game will debut through a Kickstarter campaign later this year. Meanwhile, the main tabletop RPG book will launch directly in stores. The core book for tabletop RPGs will notably be fully compatible with tabletop RPGs of massive size Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition core books, allowing the dungeon masters to seamlessly incorporate elements from RuneScape into their campaigns.
